Q&A
Connect with this vendor by getting to know them beyond their work.
Is there a wedding destination or type that’s on your bucket list right now?
I have been so lucky to have shot in most of my bucket list locations, BUT there is always space for one more. I would say Oregon in the USA, Banff, New Zealand and South Portugal.
What is your specialty or personal style?
I love it when the day is not structured to the minute, I am a very laid back person and I love letting moments play out without rushing to get to something, my style is definitely more documentary. I love nothing more than a dirty wedding dress and best believe it, if you fall, I'll first photograph and then offer to pick you up! I LOVE chasing that beautiful golden light and I'll be there shouting and getting excited when you looking BANGING in that golden glow. Here to make BANGERS!!!
I put beautiful people in banging landscapes.
Do you have a favorite wedding story or moment from your career?
Like most photographers, the dream is to shoot in another country and getting your first international wedding / elopement is really something special, but I would say recently I did an elopement in Ireland for a fellow photographer and we had the BEST day. They only had four guests at their wedding and considering I was one of the lucky people to experience this declaration of love is something so special.
Couples hire you because…
I would like to think couples hire me because I am really honest, I am funny, well at least I think I am, I make people really comfortable around me and willing to help and to create masterpieces that they would LOVE to hang in their homes and to tell their family and friends about that crazy photographer who made a float in a tidal pool or hike 2 hours for sunrise or sunset. But man what a time we had!
What’s your favorite aspect of your job?
The people I meet. I have been so lucky to meet people from all walks of life and considering that I have nearly done 400 weddings / elopements, I still feel so privileged that I am the stranger they trust to capture their forever day. I an honour to share, capture and celebrate these forever days with my couples.
What aspect of your job never ceases to give you butterflies or make you excited?
Butterflies, there is only THE MOMENT, the moment the bride or groom walks down the aisle. If I stop getting those butterflies, I promised myself I would stop shooting wedding and elopements.
Excited, BANGING LIGHT! I will chase that light until I can't anymore.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
I have four golden retrievers and they ARE MY LIFE! We walk twice a day on the beach, every and I meant every morning for sunrise regarding of rain, wind, sun. I love these fur babies so much. I am also a qualified barista, coffee is life, commercial drone pilot and rare plant collector.
What achievement, moment, or success are you most proud of in your career?
Been selected at one of Junebug's top 50 wedding images in 2023.
Getting my first Getaway Magazine Cover.
Describe the personalities of the couples you get along best with.
Definitely down to earth couples, nature lovers, adventure seekers, couples who would do anything "for the photo".
How did you get your start in the wedding industry?
By luck really. I loved photography, but landscape photography. I didn't want anyone in my photos, but I had a friend who really wanted me to photograph her wedding and I said no a few times and after much persistence I said yes, I vowed never to do another wedding after that. LOL! The shock was real. But yeah got asked again, again and again. And now I just want people in my landscapes!
What part of your business are you best at?
Making my couples comfortable with me.
What is your communication style?
Very honest, I prefer email in the initial stages, but once booked and sorting out locations, WhatsApp is perfect for me.
Do you have payment plans available?
Yes absolutely.
