What aspect of your job never ceases to give you butterflies or make you excited?

Of all the moments in a wedding day, the moments of revelation really stand out for us: the first looks and walking down the aisle. These moments emphasise how big the day is, how important this moment is, and the impact it will have on the rest of your life. These moments of firsts are the only wedding moments no-one can prepare you for, and you'll have no idea how you'll react, making them truly authentic, and the highlight of our job.

Describe the personalities of the couples you get along best with.

Couples who share an interest in art, music, nature and the outdoors, who share our values, who are easygoing, adaptable, and who have a great sense of humour, who are adventurous and who will take risks, like trusting us to get the best out of them.

We invest a lot of time in getting to know the couples who book us, because we truly believe in being familiar faces on your day, but also because knowing you allows us to tell your story better. Our aim is to be your best friends on this journey, so wherever we can help, whether you need referrals for other vendors, or advice from our experience, we want to help make the experience of getting married as pleasant and stress-free as possible.

What is your specialty or personal style?

Our approach is documentary and unobtrusive, combined with direction and posing that will feel natural and allow you to look and feel like you. We get along well with other vendors, respecting everyone present and their roles, and remain calm even under pressure.

How did you get your start in the wedding industry?

For both of us, telling the story of people's important moments was a driving force in the development of our careers. Shanellé photographed her first wedding in 2010, and Gita hers in 2008. Even though our careers led us on very different paths from those firsts, when we photographed our first wedding together in 2019 it felt natural, it felt right. We shared a passion for documenting people's important events, but most importantly, we shared a love for capturing love, in all the very many forms it manifests at a wedding.

Do you have a favorite wedding story or moment from your career?

While there are honestly too many incredible stories to share, photographing a wedding in Ireland, complete with a 15th-century castle and a swan, definitely counts among the top.

Is there a wedding destination or type that’s on your bucket list right now?

We are travel bugs and would never pass up an opportunity to photograph a destination wedding, but these are our current obsessions/goals: 1. Iceland - black beaches, waterfalls, and volcanoes? Yes please! 2. Latvia - we can't resist a mysterious forest. 3. Bali - gods, temples and island vibes all the way. 4. Botswana - a safari wedding on the Chobe, and while you're there why not hop over to Victoria Falls for bridal portraits? If you can dream it...
